Mercedes Benz NYFW Day 1

What can we learn from BCBGMAXAZRIA? Easy, breezy and effortless will never go out of style.

Returning to fashion week for the 3rd time, I was ecstatic to be able to walk the halls (or tents) of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Upon arrival of the show, I was stormed by photographers for over 45 minutes until finally entering into the sanctuary.

The tents were less full than I remember, probably because it was an ice storm outside. Entering the Theatre room where the show was to be held, it was already full and had no shortage of glamorous people. I had spotted Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad, The Man Repeller, and plenty of other famous fashion bloggers I have recently discovered. On top of all the major editors and show attendee regulars since this show is one of the biggest at Fashion Week.

I was lucky enough to get a front row seat at the show. The music began with a contemporary beat and bright lights. Honestly, I love the feeling of fashion shows. It's art, culture, society, and fashion all in one room. It's an indescribable feeling and all I can feel after them is that I know I belong in this world.

The BCBGMAXAZRIA collection was a cohesive piece of summer ease. It was everything I would ever want in my summer closet, from the white detailed jackets to the silk maxi dresses. BCBG teaches us that it's okay to be a little bit messy during the summer with their combination of "bohemian silhouettes and timeless elegance". A lot of the silhouettes in the collection flowed beautifully on the catwalk and had a mix of separates and dresses.

My favorite were the long, flawy silk maxi dresses because maxi dresses save lives.

My tan is from Rainglow Airbrush Tanning in Seattle ;)
