Olivia Palermo's Gown: A Disappointment?!

Wedding season. Full of peonies, huge guest-lists, champagne, hot bachelors, and designer wedding gowns. At least that's what was expected from Olivia's and Johanne's anticipated wedding of the season.

Instead, the couple tied the knot with their family and 2 closest friends in a secretive location inside a park in Bedford, NYC. Now, that sounds fairly romantic and a bit expected from a high socialite like Olivia, however, her dress of choice was not.

Her "casual" choice of a wedding gown is an understatement. She made her appearance in a cream cashmere sweater and white shorts with a "full tulle skirt that cinched at the waist in layers of satin and silk and featured a high slit in the front with floral details on them" (OliviaPalermo.com). She also finished off her look with her signature middle-part ponytail and natural makeup.

We cannot disagree that OP looks stunning as she made her bridal debut, but really a sweater??? Not only did she have Carolina Herrera at her finger tips to design the "dress" but I'm sure 20 other minions that act to her every need, but really, shorts and a sweater?!!?? I mean, I'm sure at least 1 person voiced their opinion on how non-bridal this ensemble had seemed? I love a unique wedding dress as much as the next girl, but I just can't with this outfit.

I understand that being a style icon keeps her on her toes and pushes her to be "edgy", but she has had better outfits going to casual fashion week events. Come on, OP..

As much as I dislike the dress, I must admit it's a chic and modern ensemble, but not for a wedding in my opinion. Although, she is and always will be fabulous. Congrats, Olivia!
